The track hitches a soulful vocal to big hooks, warm production and lyrics that ache at the cowardice and self-deception required to stay in a failing relationship.
Irish radio has been generous to the track ahead of release. Further afield, Radio LRdR in Switzerland has been playing the track – (and revisiting the previous singles too). Radio Plus in Utah, USA, gave the track its first transatlantic outing, while its sister station in Florida will play it too. UK station Riverside Radio spun the song, while NCCR and Phoenix 98FM – both in UK – have scheduled plays for the new single.
HOMETIME is Dubliner, Tony Kavanagh. Alongside writing, recording, designing and promoting his own releases, he keeps busy on the songwriting front for himself and others.
HOMETIME created a buzz with his two previous singles, «Gratitude» and «The Sound Of Heartbreak», cracking the Top 5 of the Irish iTunes pop singles chart, and getting airplay in Ireland (including 2FM and RTE Radio1), the UK, the US, Canada, Switzerland, Israel and Mexico. Both singles were big hits on Canada’s Q32 gay chart – reaching No.1 and No.3 respectively – and on the UK’s LGBTQ Music Chart – both hit No.6.
New York dance maestro/label executive, Vinny Vero, and British pop icon, Alison Moyet, have both been generous with their praise. Vinny Vero commissioned HOMETIME to remix a track by one of his acts for an imminent big-label album release.
HOMETIME’s pandemic-delayed début album, «Past Imperfect», is expected late this year.
