«One Way Ticket» is set for release on September 9, and it’s a boisterous pop banger like nothing else you’ll hear on radio right now!
Produced by Gareth Shortland (Steps, Erasure), with vocal production by Richey McCourt (Aimée, Erica Cody), the track embodies the energy of Pet Shop Boys and Bronski Beat, with lyrics that are arresting and hook-laden.
«One Way Ticket» is the follow-up to his single «The Last Time», which became Robert‘s eighth consecutive Top 5 hit on the LGBTQ Music Chart, peaking at #2 in July.
The song is about «30-something panic», the idea that your life now is a result of a series of decisions, and if you’re not where you wanna be, you start considering what you’re willing to do to get there!
Remixes of the track by Gareth Shortland and Sakgra will be released on September 23 and September 30 respectively.
«One Way Ticket» is taken from my forthcoming EP «Severance», coming October 7, which also features the singles «Save You», «Been & Gone» and «The Last Time».
«Severance» follows my critically-acclaimed 2020 EP ‘Transcendence’, which was hailed «a pop masterpiece» by RGM magazine.
