Måns Zelmerlöw, the beloved artist who captivated audiences a decade ago, is making a grand return to Melodifestivalen today, 22 February 2025. He will grace the stage in Malmö with his latest song, «Revolution», marking his first competition entry since his iconic win with «Heroes» in 2015. This song not only earned him a Eurovision victory but also propelled his career onto the international scene.
In his own words, Måns shared, «I haven’t felt that any song was right for a comeback until now. Revolution is energetic and arena-compatible, and I hope the audience feels the same way about it as I do. Regardless of the result, it feels great to be back!» The song was crafted alongside talented musicians David Lindgren Zacharias, Ola Svensson, and Sebastian Atas.
Interestingly, Måns decided to approach the creation of this song with a fresh perspective, opting to start from scratch. «I’ve written a lot of songs in my career and know that it has to feel right. When I came into the studio, they already had an idea, but I immediately felt that we needed a new start. I had a title in my head – ‘Revolution’. When David found the right chord progression, everything fell into place, and after two hours the song was ready», he recalled.
Alongside «Revolution», Måns is also set to release another track titled «Broken», which he describes as one of his most personal works yet. The lyrics of «Broken» resonate deeply with his personal experiences from a challenging year in 2024, emphasising how music has been his refuge.
With Melodifestivalen holding a special place in his heart, Måns looks forward to the excitement of competition once more. «To be able to create a song where every second counts – that’s something I’ve missed. It’s going to be really fun to compete again!», he concludes. Fans around the globe are eagerly anticipating his performance and the magic he will bring back to the stage!
