Boy George Axed from Bandcamp After Explosive Pro‑Israel Song supporting Genocide

By  Jungle Telegraph05/08/2026 Music Releases 66 Views

Boy George has been removed from Bandcamp after releasing an AI‑generated pro‑Israel song, sparking backlash over controversial lyrics and intensifying the fallout surrounding «We Will Dance Again».

Boy George has been removed from Bandcamp after releasing an AI‑generated pro‑Israel track that sparked widespread outrage, with Consequence.net, reporting that the fallout around the Culture Club singer is rapidly escalating. The move comes just days after he was pulled from a production of Jesus Christ Superstar in the wake of the controversy surrounding his song «We Will Dance Again», which included incendiary lyrics defending Israel’s actions in Palestine.

In a social media post on Monday, Boy George claimed Bandcamp had taken down his profile entirely. The removal followed the release of «We Will Dance Again», a track in which he openly backed the Israeli government’s assault on Palestinians, singing lines such as «You say genocide/ I say war», and «You condemn the Jews with selective memory/ Musicians holding flags mouthing like sheep/ Propaganda fuelled by the internet feels so weak». According to Consequence.net, the backlash was immediate, with fans and industry figures condemning both the song’s message and its timing.

Reacting to Bandcamp’s decision, Boy George lashed out on Instagram, writing «What a bunch of c^^^s!» and calling the situation «very disappointing» in a video message. However, the removal may not be solely tied to the political content of the track. The singer has been open about using AI to create «We Will Dance Again», and Bandcamp’s policy explicitly bans music «generated wholly or in substantial part by AI», a rule that could explain the takedown regardless of the controversy.

The singer also revealed he has parted ways with his longtime label manager, adding yet another layer to the growing storm around him. As the backlash intensifies, Boy George’s decision to release the track — and the method he used to make it — continues to trigger professional consequences that show no sign of slowing.

From today LGBTQ Music Chart or Outed On Friday! playlist will not features «We Will Dance Again» or other songs from the artist Boy George or Culture Club because of his support of genocide in Palestine.
