Ferdinand returns with a new single – «How Many How Often»
Brazilian singer Ferdinand is back and poking fun at religion with his single «How Many How Often».
The song is a satire of Christianity and its neurotic preoccupation with people’s sexual practices. This is his second single and now features a fully produced music video.
An indie rock tune with callbacks to classic rock and garage rock, the song is a departure from the artist’s debut single Rivera, from 2020, more Latin pop-oriented. Production spares no use of electric guitars and includes a baseline that recalls Arctic Monkeys. The video lampoons evangelical ministers and their relationship with money, fame and power.
«Rivera», released independently, as with HMHO, was an homage to Venezuelan-American LGBTQ revolutionary Sylvia Rivera and peaked at the 2nd spot in the LGBT Music Chart, being also featured on Dutch broadcaster PidiRadio and in online magazines LGBT Africa and Acapa, as well as being played on Portuguese radio AllStar and named a Commended Entry in the UK Songwriting Contest.
