The extraordinary new single by Osvaldo Supino is called «Lights Down Low». The track marks the return of the Italian singer-songwriter two years after «Sparks», the album that was certified for eight million streams and made him one of only four Italian artists, along with Laura Pausini, Eros Ramazzotti and Il Volo, to have been interviewed by CNN.
Co-written and co-produced by Osvaldo with Ili and Juancho Gutièrrez, and distributed by Believe Digital, «Lights Down Low» is a perfect fusion of dance sounds and orchestral elements. A surprising, elegant, fresh track that hypnotises from the first listen.
«Usually, my records are born from what I listen to while I travel the world for promotions or concerts. This time, I had to search inside myself for a new sound», says Osvaldo to me. «That’s why this song is a real combination of these elements. I’m dancing unrestrained, provocative, but at the same time I’m always looking for a deep emotion, a refinement, an elegance».
The single is the forerunner of a new musical project for the artist: «In such a synthetic moment I want to make a change and bring my audience to feel more, to live each song deeply, exactly as I do when I write them. A lot of new songs will be released before the record, one after the other».
The launch of «Lights Down Low» falls in the month of gay pride, and it’s no coincidence: «It’s undeniable that we are in a phase of cultural regression and all the more reason to make our voices heard, to feel proud and demand the respect and rights we deserve», said Osvaldo, who is also the face of Spotify’s Claim Your Space campaign, which promotes the best queer artists in the world.
The video clip of the song is a frenetic succession of creative worlds, in a detailed aesthetic that proves Osvaldo’s extraordinary ability to reinvent himself and be credible every time.
This release is accompanied by the Spanish version of «Perder el Control» due out on 9 July with which the artist will once again, albeit virtually, start touring the world with his music.
To date, Osvaldo Supino is the most recognised and awarded independent Italian artist abroad, an absolute reference for international dance pop produced in Italy. He holds the record as the only Italian nominated three times at the BT Digital Music Awards, Unicef Award, Mei Award, 2 Nickelip awards, 2 LAIFFA Awards, Renaissance Awards, he represented Italy at Global Pride along with Mel B, Rita Ora and Elton John, and he was the first Italian male artist interviewed by Univision in the U.S.
Osvaldo Supino is back with «Lights Down Low» and once again he does not leave anyone indifferent.
