His most recent album, «Cobalt», debuted at number one on the Italian iTunes Electronic Chart and was featured on Billboard Italia. Leon has not only reached new heights in Italy, but has also been heavily supported by BBC Introducing and has performed at various venues throughout London as well as renowned festivals in Italy, further expanding his audience and following.
Leon delves deeply into the alternative world, and his music defies categorisation. His new album, «Grimoire», is a deep exploration into ambient electronic music that renders into a transcendent, fantasy world he has created entirely on his own, with lead single «Lullaby» perfectly encapsulating everything Leon Seti stands for.
Leon’s style is clear from the first second, with contrasting and almost clashing synths. A melodic and floaty flute line then enters, allowing Leon’s truly empowering lyricism and vocals to take centre stage. He writes catchy pop-woven melodies that are instantly accessible, on top of a dark and brooding production that transports you to another world entirely. Seti’s soft and warm voice has such presence and impact on this beautifully minimalistic electro-pop track, which stays with you long after it ends.
«The lyrics were inspired by a fight I had with my sister», Leon explains. «With my producer, Pancratio, we turned it into a powerful statement about not feeling heard, about feeling powerless…» The final line, «you’ll never say sorry/and that’s fine/ I guess», captures a hope that can be difficult to express.
Other singles, including «Grimoire» and «And I’m Gone», invite you into Leon Seti’s eclectic world, with this sophomore album showcasing his full range of artistic prowess. Leon Seti, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, is kicking off 2023 with a sonically unique and resonating body of work, and «Lullaby’ will help him stand out above the noise.
