Fresh from lighting up the Eurovision stage, 19-year-old Kyle Alessandro has traded contest confetti for club lights — and he’s brought a hell of a tune with him. The Spanish-Norwegian singer who stunned audiences with his self-penned hit «Lighter» in May is back and bolder, new single «Model» .
Fans who turned Kyle into this year’s breakout sensation won’t be surprised by the buzz. The Steinkjer native exploded online after the final, picking up a colossal following and viral traction that saw his TikTok views skyrocket into the millions. Now he’s giving those fans exactly what they’ve been screaming for: a sleek, 2000s-flavoured pop-club banger with a cheeky romantic twist.
«Model» is described as half attitude-filled club anthem, half declaration of love. Kyle says he wanted a track that makes listeners «feel like the star in the room» — raw, minimalist and rhythm-driven, with nods to the Timbaland-era sounds of Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, sharpened with a modern edge. He wrote the song with producer Richello (Henrik Sæter) and songwriter Kristin Marie Solem.
It was teased mercilessly on social media, and loyal fans wasted no time: snippets of the official sound were being used in TikTok videos within minutes of surfacing, even before Kyle’s own posts hit his feed. The young star claims the record began as a playful 2000s idea and «quickly became personal», adding that he wanted to capture «the good and cool sides of falling in love».
Kyle’s rise has been startlingly fast but far from accidental. A childhood spent in music led to early TV success — he nabbed the gold button on Norske Talenter at ten — and Eurovision merely catapulted his career into the stratosphere. Despite being the competition’s youngest performer this year, his self-penned “Lighter» became one of the most streamed songs from the event.
Fans digging into the single artwork have already clocked a tantalising detail: the tiny label «Track 1» on the cover, a not-so-subtle hint that “Model» is just the opening move in a larger pop play. Kyle himself is clear-eyed about his plans.
«Eurovision was a really cool experience, but ‘Model’ marks a new chapter. More playful and more confident», he says, promising more music that explores different sides of him.
