Swedish Pop Artist Patrik Jean Drops Euphoric New Single «Fatal Eyes» Following Melodifestivalen Return
Swedish LGBTQI+ pop star Patrik Jean drops euphoric new single «Fatal Eyes» via Polydor/Universal Music, following his 2026 Melodifestivalen comeback.
Sweden’s celebrated pop artist and songwriter Patrik Jean has unveiled his latest dance-floor anthem, «Fatal Eyes», marking another significant moment in his comeback year following his return to Melodifestivalen.
Released on 25 September 2026 via Polydor/Universal Music, the track captures the intoxicating rush of falling completely for someone, a feeling that’s both exhilarating and terrifying to surrender to.
A Year of Milestones
This release caps a major start to 2026 for the openly LGBTQI+ artist, who graced Sweden’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with his track «Dusk Till Dawn». It marked his first appearance in the competition since debuting with «Tears Run Dry» in 2021.
«Fatal Eyes» takes the energy from that Eurovision stage and channels it onto the dancefloor, according to Jean. The song explores love so deep it makes everything else fade away—an “incredible feeling” that comes with the risk of losing control entirely.
«It’s about a love that completely takes over and makes you lose your footing», Jean explains. «At first, it was called ‘Quicksand’, which still remains as a line in the verse. Maybe it was the heat that made our minds wander to the desert».
The track was written on a warm summer day alongside producer Karl Flyckt.
Impressive Track Record
Patrik Jean’s credentials speak for themselves. As an artist, he boasts 80 million streams globally, while his songwriting work has accumulated over 400 million streams. His roster includes cuts for James Arthur, Callum Scott, and brothers Marcus & Martinus.
His production portfolio features:
– Radio number-one hits in Germany
– Gold and platinum certifications across multiple territories
– Placements on major TV shows including American Idol and RuPaul’s Drag Race
As a solo performer, Jean earned gold certification for «Lean on Me» and secured playlist support in more than 20 countries. He’s also collaborated with prominent DJs including Felix Jaehn, Topic, Sevenn, and Ilkay Sencan, alongside touring German arenas.
What «Fatal Eyes» Signals
With this newest release, Jean continues blending emotional vulnerability with dance-driven pop—a signature style that’s built his reputation as one of Sweden’s most versatile contemporary talents.
«Fatal Eyes» offers listeners another glimpse into what fans are describing as the next era of his artistry, one that balances heartfelt songwriting with club-ready production. Patrik Jean’s «Fatal Eyes» are featured on Outed on Friday! playlist this week.
