«A few years ago, I was performing and I swear I saw my father sitting front row», Lexxe recalls. «I love to write about the supernatural and the things we don’t understand, so while I acknowledge that seeing him could’ve been a figment of my imagination, it doesn’t make it any less poignant», Lexxe writes. «The song is made up of different lines about me questioning life and death, discussing real-life events (the show where I thought I saw him, his friends seeing me in random bars and crying because I look like him, the last time I saw him), and it’s really a question of do we ever truly die?»
Lexxe is a breath of fresh air with a raw story to tell and refreshing music to share, with artistic authenticity oozing out of everything she does. Her enticing dark-pop sound has piqued the interest of tastemakers such as Billboard, Audiofemme, and Earmilk.
Lexxe began her creative career as a classically trained ballet dancer, originally from Long Island and now based in Queens. She studied at the prestigious Seiskaya Ballet Academy before earning her BFA from the Suny Purchase Conservatory of Dance. She also performs with the neo-burlesque troupe Company XIV, where she is able to combine her passions for dance, music, and stage performance.
