iTunes Live: London Sessions - EP (by Jason Mraz)
Jason Mraz shares that his ex-wife played a crucial role in helping him embrace his bisexuality
Jason Mraz is openly and proudly bisexual — and he says he has his ex-wife to thank for it.
The talented singer-songwriter, who won a Grammy Award, and bravely shared their true self in 2018 while married to Christina Carano, has been honored as one of the Out100 in 2023, a list that celebrates the most influential and pioneering LGBTQ+ individuals of the year.
Even though Mraz and Carano went their separate ways in June 2023 after being married for eight years, the «I’m Yours» singer appreciates his ex-wife for being a source of encouragement as he explored his sexuality. He also acknowledges that their separation allowed him to discover his true self independently.
It’s wonderful to see how much effort the 46-year-old is putting into healing past relationships while embracing a new identity. It’s not always easy to balance these two things, but it’s important to keep moving forward. The fact that they were acknowledged on the Out100 is fantastic and shows that their hard work is paying off, miamiherald.com reports.
