The name is inspired by the old skeletons who were found thousands of years ago in the Italian city Valdaro. They were found buried together in a loving embrace and no one has ever been able to figure out whether it was a man and a woman or not, therefore they are considered genderless and symbolises that you can love whoever you want. That’s what «The Lovers of Valdaro» as a group wants to convey, hence the name.
They participated in the Swedish contest «P4 Nästa» and were through this also offered to participate in Melodifestivalen as well.
Last Saturday they competed in Leksand with the song «Somebody Wants», written by Erik himself together with Thomas G:son and Peter Boström – the dreamy duo who wrote Loreens «Euphoria».
Unfortunately «The Lovers of Valdaro» didn’t get a ticket to the final of the Melodifestivalen, but I can now confirm that «Somebody Wants» will be added to LGBTQ Music Chart this Sunday as a newcomer for week 10.
The Lovers of Valdaro‘s «Somebody Wants» has been added to MySoCalledGayLife.co.uk (our owner) official Spotify Playlist – follow it so you are not missing out on great tunes like this one.
