Additionally, it was listed on other international iTunes holiday charts. The singer performed 12 sold-out concerts in Shanghai in 2019 and won two silver medals in the World Championships of Performing Arts in California. By threatening to turn into a full-throated anthem for the jaded and indifferent masses while simultaneously delivering up a vibe that’s just too lovely to turn down, Rhian!’s most recent single, «NO!» presents a delightful conundrum for the listener.
Rhian was born in Trinidad originally. At the age of 4, he began singing in the church choir and, throughout his early years, struggled to hide his sexuality. By his teen years, had already established himself as a resident of London. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Performance and Production from the London Centre of Contemporary Music, joined the gospel group Souls of Prophecy, and then performed at a wide range of venues throughout the UK, mesmerising audiences with his vivacious style and stage presence.
Beginning with the instrumentals and continuing all the way to the song’s entertainingly unexpected rap portion that serves as the bridge, «NO!» definitely makes you want to say yes. The instrumental production has a particular no-frills quality that enhances the mood by paying homage to legendary EDM tracks from the 1990s and 2000s while maintaining a modern speed and sound. This support structure nicely accommodates Rhian’s distinctive and charming vocal tones in both the lead lines and the numerous ad-libs and callbacks. All of these components combine to create a violent melodic hook that lodges itself tenaciously in the listener’s head and never pays rent.
Rhian’s music and fashion exude an indescribable appeal that is simultaneously whimsical and enthralling enough to fill a dance floor.
Release day for «NO!» is set for April 28th, 2023.
