The official Pride song for West Pride 2023 is «I Adore Me» with Teeo

In Gothenburg on 26 May. presented West Pride, Teeo as the artist behind West Pride's official Pride song. With his song «I Adore Me», Teeo takes us on a journey of love and strength, while highlighting the challenges LGBTQI+ people face in today's society. The song has been written by Teeo together with the artist Mariette.

I am incredibly proud to represent our community through «I Adore Me». The song symbolises a world where we are strong and loved, and I hope that the message reaches as many people as possible during West Pride, in Gothenburg, says Teeo.

Between June 8 and 10, Teeo will perform «I Adore Me» multiple times in Pride Park as part of West Pride in Bältespännarparken, Gothenburg. The song serves as a manifestation that we are unbeatable and accepted just as we are. Teeo provides an experience that touches and inspires the audience with a powerful melody and refined energy.

When we (the West Pride jury) heard «I Adore Me» for the first time, the jury members and I were speechless. Be who you are and be proud of it! That is the message of the song, which encompasses all that West Pride stands for and works for. Anders Olsson, producer of West Pride’s stage programme, adds that highlighting Teeo, a young musician who is open and proud of his sexual orientation, feels particularly enjoyable.

It is quite amazing that, thanks to the competition to select the official Pride song for West Pride, we can elevate a fantastic artist and recently composed pop music. According to Tasso Stafilidis, operations manager at West Pride, «I Adore Me» is already a song I adore.

Teeo, a 19-year-old Swedish musician and artist, resides in Tingsryd, a town outside of Växjö. With the help of his manager and mentor Mariette, he has been aggressively advancing his artistic career in recent years. Teeo is a synth and indie pop musician with years of experience in both live performance and studio recording, despite his youth.

2019 saw the release of Teeo’s debut single, «For You and I», which had its world premiere in front of over 10,000 spectators on the main stage during Stockholm Pride. The song gained popularity across the globe and made it to the prestigious British radio station Amazing Radio, which broadcast «For You and I» to millions of listeners. In 2021 and 2022, Teeo gave performances at West Pride. The lyrics about romantic relationships and messages about being accepted for who you are are at the heart of the music, which is characterised as emotionally explosive and passionate indie pop/rock.

LGBTQ Music Chart has of course added «I Adore Me» to our Pride playlist ( from 2020 we only add songs that is in cooperation with a pride origination).
