The summer-themed anthem «Summer Is Waiting» was recorded by Robert O’Connor

With the release of his brand-new track, «Summer Is Waiting», a chill-out anthem ideal for Ibiza sunsets at Café Del Mar, Robert O'Connor is striking while the iron is hot.

Never before has the Dublin artist been in a better situation. His most recent EP, «Severance», which was published in October of last year, has recently reached 100,000 streams on Spotify.

Retro Pop said: «’Severance’ showcases his superb songwriting and sees him finally find his sound», while RGM pronounced the EP «a sonic masterpiece that is pushing his more than deserved efforts into the big leagues».

Robert teams up once more with «Severance» producer Gareth Shortland, who has previously collaborated with pop greats like Sophie Ellis Bextor, Steps, and Erasure, on «Summer Is Waiting». When Robert wrote a new song that looked time-sensitive while the duo was working on the follow-up, it resulted in a release that was only mixed.

«I had two conversations with two friends in a 24-hour period. Everyone was feeling a bit down in the dumps, and I wanted to say to them ‘summer’s right round the corner, everything will seem better when the sun is shining’, so in a way it’s my seasonal affective disorder anthem!», Robert says to LGBTQ Music Chart.

Robert, on the other hand, has never felt more confident as an artist. His cult following is expanding daily, leading to an incredible 10 consecutive Top 5 singles on the LGBTQ Music Chart and a crowd that eagerly anticipates his next musical move. He has even earned an official «This Is Robert O’Connor» playlist on Spotify.
