Robert O’Connor celebrates 10,000 streams of «Summer Is Waiting» with Chillout Remix

Robert O'Connor has just released a brand-new chillout remix of his recent hit «Summer Is Waiting» by Fletz to commemorate the positive response to the song, which has recently surpassed 10,000 downloads on Spotify.

Since he became a fully independent artist in 2018, he has grown steadily. Just 1,000 people listened to his 2020 EP «Transcendence» on Spotify, but thanks to a regular stream of single releases and a demanding DIY promotion schedule, he was able to surpass 100,000 listeners with his most recent EP, «Severance», which was released in 2022.

With his producer Gareth Shortland (Sophie Ellis Bextor, Steps, Erasure), Robert O’Connor is currently hard at work on the follow-up album, and «Summer Is Waiting» is the first preview to be made public from the undertaking.

The song has a chill-out vibe that is ideal for Ibiza sunsets. In particular, artists like Bent and Zero 7 from the Café Del Mar compilations served as inspiration for Robert O’Connor, who was also influenced by his producer’s use of Hed Kandi oldies in his production.
