On this Valentine’s Day, Norwegian and Trønder Peder Elias just released his latest track, «If I Got a Dollar», a lighthearted pop song that cleverly tackles the theme of broken hearts. Known for his neat personality and punctuality, Peder Elias infuses this song with a playful charm, transforming what is typically a somber subject into a cheerful anthem. With his knack for dual meanings in lyrics, he aims to remind listeners that endings can be just as joyful as beginnings.
Written over in England last May, in collaboration with Ryan Bickley and producer Freedo (famous for works with Zara Larsson and The Chainsmokers), the song grew from an original gallows-humoured lyric. The premise cleverly connects monetary themes with heartache, highlighting that sometimes it’s okay to find humor in life’s ups and downs. Peder Elias, with his youthful spirit—being an uncle to thirteen, soon to be fourteen, children—brings a delightful energy to everything he creates.
Excitingly, Peder Elias from Trondheim has also announced his first-ever tour across Asia, including Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. This tour not only marks a significant milestone in his career but also offers fans a chance to experience his playful energy live. He believes that the joyful message in songs like «If I Got a Dollar» can resonate deeply, particularly for those seeking new perspectives after heartbreak. Perhaps his journey through heartache has equipped him to spread wisdom through his catchy tunes.
