The newly released anthem «Together, You and Me Strong» has emerged as a powerful response from the worldwide LGBTQ community to the U.S. government’s rollback of critical human rights laws. Written by the multi-award-winning artist Jackette Knightley, this song serves not only as a protest but also as a rallying cry for solidarity and strength. Knightley’s poignant lyrics reflect the defiance and resilience of a community facing unprecedented challenges.
This anthem has gained international attention, particularly after its feature on the UK’s LGBTQ music chart radio show hosted by Tim Graham. The LGBTQ Music Chart, founded by Ephram St. Cloud back in 2018, has provided a platform for LGBTQ musicians from all around the world. In response to the U.S. government’s waning support for anti-discrimination laws, Jackette Knightley emphasises, «It’s a war on our most basic human rights. We’ll strive like ’65 until we win».
All proceeds from «Together, You and Me Strong» are directed toward non-profits that protect the human rights of U.S. residents and provide fire relief. In just days, this anthem transformed from a Hollywood event into a major international movement. The importance of this release cannot be overstated. Jackette Knightley will even be making appearances at various Southern California nightclub meet-and-greets, encouraging donations while amplifying the song’s message. As Robert Iscove brilliantly states, «’Together, You and Me Strong’ isn’t just a song – it’s a movement». This growing initiative not only seeks to reclaim rights but fosters a united front within the LGBTQ community.
